About the Artist

Welcome to Pastelluna Design-

My name is Carolyn McDonald, I am a Board Certified Art Therapist and Artist living in Portland Oregon. I began my adult life as a teacher at a private elementary school where I ran the design studio and taught art education to kindergarten through third grade. In 2001 I graduated from Marylhurst with a Masters' Degree in Art Therapy. Prior to graduate school I took courses at Oregon College of Art and Craft where I became inspired to explore extensively with Oil Pastels and Oil Sticks. I really enjoy the rich depths that can be achieved by rubbing, spreading and building the media on paper. In addition to my pastel drawings I also paint on glass, carve soapstone figures and work with clay.
